Description
Provides medical help outside normal general practitioner opening hours for urgent health problems that cannot wait until the next general practitioner appointment but are not immediately life-threatening, such as very high fever, sudden pain or cramps, unclear abdominal or chest symptoms, or an acute worsening of a chronic condition. Call 1830 first: a healthcare professional assesses the symptoms and may provide advice by phone, direct the patient to an on-call clinic, send an on-call doctor, or arrange an ambulance if necessary. For life-threatening emergencies, call 112 instead.
